Tudor Britain: a five-day tour
Hampton Court, Hever, Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII — the architecture of a dynasty.
The Tudors ruled England 1485-1603 — five monarchs, five seismic chapters. Their architectural heritage is concentrated in the south-east: Hampton Court Palace (Henry's), Hever Castle (Anne Boleyn's childhood home), Penshurst Place, Layer Marney Tower, Sutton House. Add the Mary Rose museum in Portsmouth (Henry's flagship raised in 1982) and you have a strong long-weekend tour.
