UK observatories & dark-sky sites
Eight venues for star-watching from southern England to Shetland.
Britain's dark-sky parks — Northumberland, the Brecon Beacons, the South Downs, Galloway, the Cairngorms, the North York Moors — are protected for their absence of light pollution. They are complemented by working observatories (Royal Observatory Greenwich, Jodrell Bank, Calton Hill, Mills Observatory in Dundee, Hampstead) that run public stargazing nights through the autumn and winter.
