Islay distillery trail

The peat-and-salt school of Scotch — eight working distilleries on one Hebridean island.

Islay is a 240-square-mile island with nine working malt-whisky distilleries — the densest concentration in the world. Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Ardbeg and Bowmore on the south coast; Bunnahabhain, Caol Ila and Bruichladdich on the north. Plan it as five days, two distilleries a day.
