Britain's iconic suspension bridges
Eight Victorian and modern engineering landmarks.
Britain pioneered suspension-bridge engineering. Thomas Telford's Menai Bridge (1826), Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge (1864), the Tamar Bridge, the Forth Road Bridge and the modern Queensferry Crossing all hold engineering firsts. This itinerary loops them as a road trip from London north to Edinburgh, with viewpoints and walking access at each.
