Britain's most famous graveyards
Highgate, Greyfriars, Bunhill Fields, Brompton.
Britain's Victorian cemeteries — Highgate, Kensal Green, Brompton, Greyfriars Kirkyard in Edinburgh — are themselves visitor attractions. Highgate alone holds Karl Marx, George Eliot, and Michael Faraday. Greyfriars has Greyfriars Bobby the loyal dog. Bunhill Fields holds Blake, Bunyan, and Defoe. Most run guided tours.
