Buildings designed by William Burges
William Burges (1827–1881) was the great medievalist of late Victorian architecture. Cardiff Castle and Castell Coch (both for the 3rd Marquess of Bute) are his masterpieces — fairy-tale Gothic interiors with painted ceilings, gilded chambers and rooftop turrets.
