Gothic Revival architecture in Britain
Gothic Revival (c.1740β1900) reanimated medieval pointed-arch architecture for the Victorian era. The Palace of Westminster, the Royal Courts of Justice, the Albert Memorial, St Pancras station and most Victorian parish churches are Gothic Revival. The style ran from playful 18th-century "Strawberry Hill Gothick" through the morally serious High Victorian work of Pugin, Scott and Butterfield to the refined late phase of Bodley.
